The Say Gap is Back – But Bigger
When we first conceived of The Say Gap in 2023, I can honestly say that we didn’t anticipate what an impact it would have on everyone involved, including those of us running it.
I ran the first The Say Gap event in collaboration with Cosmonauts and Ginger Leadership Communications, teaching women to give mini Ted talks. It was more emotional than I could ever have imagined, because everyone who attended came away talking about the ways in which the things they had learned will change their lives for the better. This year, we went bigger as the conference was expanded to two days. The first day focused on creating an environment to support truly diverse teams and encourage diversity of thought. DE&I initiatives faced significant challenges, and the conference enabled largely Chatham House conversations around how corporates and private practice teams could understand each other’s challenges and return with practical solutions.

Day 2 featured the brilliant Sarah Lloyd Hughes from Ginger Communications and added some excitement as women were taught how to tell stories for maximum business impact.

I knew we couldn’t boil the ocean, and I didn’t try. But by bringing amazing people together and creating a space for learning and growth, we may have managed to move the dial.
